- I need some advice on good sources for learning C/C++/Java,etc. I'm an old
- time mainframe COBOL DB2er (etc. etc.) with about a year's worth of exposure
- to UNIX (Solaris) and Oracle. I will soon be getting the old "downsizing"
- heave-ho so I'm looking to pick up skills in C and/or C++, Java, HTML, etc.
- I noticed O'Reilly has a couple of books, Practical Programming in C,
- Practical Programming in C++, Java in a Nutshell, etc.
-
- Can any of you wizs give me an idea of a good source for self-study that's
- not too rudimentary (I want to be able to get into it fairly quickly)?
- Actually any suggestions for a course of action would be helpful.
-
- Greatly appreciate it.
